๐ฉ Hey everyone! Welcome back for another project lesson! This week, we're doing a fantastic workshop lesson focused on Workholding Techniques. Holding your material securely on your CNC machine is one of the most important things for a successful carve! We're diving deep into several popular methods for holding your material down on your spoil board, covering the pros and cons for each one.
This lesson will help you match the best technique to the material you're using and the type of cut you're doing. We'll discuss direct fastening (screws/nails), T-track clamps, side/edge clamps (including cam clamps), toggle clamps/fixtures, double-sided tape, the CA glue and painters tape method, hot glue, and vacuum tables. We also look at creating your own DIY wood or 3D-printed clamps and the less common vertical clamping fixtures. This is a must-watch for all CNC users, whether you use Aspire or VCarve, and the tips shared will help you maximize your productivity and safety.
