#253: How to Make Wavy Flags in VCarve

In this week’s lesson, we took a deep dive into how to carve wavy flags using VCarve Desktop or VCarve Pro — no Aspire required! You’ll learn how to take a pre-made wavy flag STL model and bring it into VCarve, how to overlay 2D vectors like stars and stripes, and how to properly project VCarve or Pocket toolpaths onto the 3D surface. We also covered how to customize the flag with your own artwork, clipart, or even the shape of the continental U.S. You’ll see how to use the Distort Between Two Vectors tool to curve flag designs to match the flag’s wave shape, and even learn how to raise or lower elements like stars depending on your design goals.
