In this lesson, we kicked off a brand-new project focused on modeling custom 3D ribbons and banners using Aspire. These are commonly used in projects like police badges, award plaques, or decorative signs. Kyle walked through how to trace a banner image from scratch, isolate the folds into clean vector shapes, and use the Two Rail Sweep tool with a custom side profile to begin shaping each fold into a realistic 3D model. He also explained why breaking the ribbon into multiple sections is essential for achieving an accurate folded appearance and discussed tips for modeling symmetry and planning mirrored designs. A part two will follow to complete and refine the ribbon.
