⚙️ Continue your journey into rotary machining! This lesson builds on last week's 3D leg design, focusing on creating efficient toolpaths and exploring VCarve's capabilities for rotary projects. Learn how to set up your material for rotary machining, define machining limit boundaries, and strategically use 3D roughing and finishing toolpaths with various bits like ball nose and tapered ball nose. Kyle demonstrates how to manage tool changes and optimize raster angles for finer details. The lesson also covers how to import STL models into VCarve, add 3D clipart, and utilize the molding toolpath for carving symmetrical designs, while highlighting the limitations compared to Aspire for complex 3D modeling. Discover tips for pre-processing material by cutting corners, and adding tabs to hold your workpiece.
