What were your biggest challenges before the Vectric Master Training Course?

I have three machines and I have been using Vectric the whole time. I did not know what a lot of those buttons did. They were just little squiggly lines on a little icon to me! 

I would say I probably used a third of those buttons, so there were two thirds of this powerful Vectric software going unused.

What did you get out of the Vectric Master Training Course?

I went on YouTube, but that is a cumbersome process. You spend so long looking for the right project. I also looked directly on the Vectric website which is OK.

Then I stumbled onto Kyle's course on the internet. The more I looked into it, the more I liked it. There is a whole set of lessons that will get you into the 3D world, which is the really fun part of CNC’ing. 

I am making engraved wooden spatulas that the ladies just love. I can engrave them and be very specific with the decoration for Christmas or other holidays. 

Before, I had no idea how to do something like that. There are a lot of moving parts to this, like importing a model, rotating it in three dimensions, and understanding what each one of those planes are.

How did the training by Learn Your CNC boost your confidence and skill set?

My confidence has grown by leaps and bounds since taking the course. Now I look at jobs and I know exactly what I am going to do, and how I am going to do it. 

A double-sided job does not worry me anymore because I have covered it in Kyle’s course. It is actually quite easy to do once you know how!

Is the Vectric Master Training Course better than self-study?

I like the Master Training Course because it is a great reference tool. It is easy to look up a command, a button, a tool, or anything I want. 

If I have a question, I can use the training course as a reference. Once you take the class, it does not go away. You can rewatch as you need or want.

Would you recommend the Vectric Master Training Course?

I would highly recommend the Vectric Master Training Course to both beginners and those who already have some skill. For beginners, it is the best money you will ever spend because you will stop breaking bits!

For those who are already confident, there are so many shortcuts that Kyle knows that will help you do everything more efficiently.

What were your biggest challenges before the Live Vectric Group Training?

My name is Brent Schaffer, and I live in Jackson, Wyoming. I have been working with CNC machines for about four years now. I have three machines, and right now I am using a CAMaster. 

I would always spend a lot of time looking for YouTube videos on what I wanted to do. You do not always find them or you have to watch two or three to piece stuff together. 

I would spend 60% or 70% of my time drawing something, and 30% of my time out there, in the shop, which just was not enjoyable.

What did you get out of the Live Vectric Group Training?

Completing the Live Vectric Group Training has changed the way I manage my time. I used to spend so much time importing bitmaps and cleaning, and I didn't even know how to do it that well! 

Now I can do that same task in minutes, whereas before it took me an hour or more depending on the bitmap that I imported. 

There is also a trick about associating toolpaths or vectors with your toolpath that you absolutely must learn from Kyle. I use it routinely now, and I did not even know it existed before the class.

I just went to the Vectric conference in San Diego and they were demonstrating that feature. I was surprised at the number of people in the audience who had never seen the tool or used it before.

How did the training by Learn Your CNC boost your confidence and skill set?

My confidence has grown 100%. I no longer look at a new job with uncertainty. I already know how to approach it and I have an idea how to draw it up and machine it before I even start. 

I have reached the point I am now thanks to Kyle and from watching these live training sessions where you can watch a session and then go into your shop and make it because he sends you the files. 

If you then force yourself to go back through and learn how to make those files from scratch it is even better.

How is the Live Vectric Group Training Course better than self-study?

The live training is totally worth the investment. I have saved literally hours of drawing time just by watching Kyle. If you know or think you know how to do some of these projects, I guarantee you will still learn something. 

This course has so much to offer, whether it is a shortcut, a way to draw something easier, or how to manipulate a file. You will learn something every single time. I know that I certainly have!

Would you recommend the Live Vectric Group Training?

I would recommend this online training to everyone from beginner to advanced users. Kyle will teach you something new no matter what level you are at!

If you are just beginning this is a great place to start. I find it a lot easier to follow this course than the official Vetric tutorials. Kyle has a great way of putting information out there and explaining it.
