🍽️ Expand your custom tray designs by mastering double-sided carving and advanced 3D modeling techniques! Building on previous lessons, Kyle demonstrates how to add a concave or convex curvature to the back of your trays, creating unique and versatile designs. Learn to use Create shape from vector outlines to generate domes and dishes, exploring add, subtract, and merge combine modes for complex shapes. The lesson covers essential 3D roughing and 3D finishing toolpaths with ball nose end mills, alongside pocket and profile toolpaths. Discover critical techniques for double-sided machining with alignment pins and zero planes, optimizing tool database settings, and choosing appropriate raster or offset strategies for different materials. This project is ideal for elevating your CNC skills and creating stunning, multi-dimensional trays from hardwoods or plywood.
